Trever Miller, P, St. Louis CardinalsTuesday 9/1, 2:44 PM CT
Trever Miller has agreed to a contract extension with the St. Louis Cardinals, according to the Twitter page of the Post-Dispatch's Bernie Miklasz. Miller will be signed through the 2010 season with a vesting option for 2011.

Our View: Miller has been absolutely outstanding for the Cards out of the bullpen this season, compiling a 1.77 ERA and, possibly more impressive, a 0.90 WHIP. He is also 4-0 this season, and he is devastating against left-handed hitters.

Updating an earlier report, Trever Miller's contract can be worth $2 million if he reaches all appearance-based incentives, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View: Miller only had 11 holds last year with a 4.15 ERA and a 1.36 WHIP, so he didn't really have any fantasy value.

After a few holdups, the anticipated deal between reliever Trever Miller and the St. Louis Cardinals has been finalized, according to MLB.com.

Our View: Instead of being a two-year contract as was first thought, it is for one year. Miller is a lefty specialist, which was a large void in their bullpen last season.

Trever Miller has agreed to terms with the Cardinals, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. He received a two-year deal, but financial details are yet to be disclosed.

Our View: The 35-year-old lefty held a passable 1.36 WHIP over 43.1 innings with the Rays in 2008, and fans of the Cardinals should be hoping they are not done adding talent to the bullpen.

Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post Dispatch is reporting that the Cardinals have signed left hand reliever Trever Miller, pending a physical.

Our View: Miller appeared in 68 games for the Rays in 2008 and left hand hitters hit only .209 against him. The acquisition of the lefty fills a big hole that the Cardinals have in their pen.

The Rays have declined Trever Miller's 2009 option, according to the Associated Press.

Our View: The 35-year-old reliever went 2-0 in 2008 with two saves and a 4.15 ERA over 68 relief appearances. His option was worth $2 million.

Trever Miller agreed to a one-year contract with the Rays on Wednesday, according to the Tampa Tribune. The deal is worth $1.6 million, and it includes a team option for 2009. Miller allowed left-handed hitters to bat just .209 against him last year, and he'll serve as a lefty specialist for Tampa in 2008.
