Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 5/15, 6:58 AM CT
Glendon Rusch has been waived by the Rockies, according to the Denver Post. He signed a minor league deal with the team in December.

Our View: The 34-year-old vet failed to stick with the Rockies, as he allowed 20 hits, eight earned runs and three walks over 13.1 innings of relief. The team is expected to replace him in the bullpen with Randy Flores.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 4/29, 9:27 AM CT
Major league baseball made an official scoring change on Tuesday night. Pitcher Glendon Rusch was awarded a win for his effort on Monday night, when he worked 2.2 innings of relief against the Padres, MLB.com reports. The scorer originally credited Jason Grilli with the victory.

Our View: We can't imagine that anyone out there actually owns Rusch on a fantasy team, but if you do, be sure to lobby your commissioner for a scoring change.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 4/5, 5:33 PM CT
According to ESPN.com, the Rockies have purchased the contract of Glendon Rusch.

Our View: Rusch made the roster with a strong spring and looks to be headed to the bullpen for long relief duty. However, any injury to a member of the starting rotation would like get Rusch some starts.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 12/19, 6:59 AM CT
Glendon Rusch has inked a one-year minor league deal with the Rockies worth $750,000, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: He will join Alan Embree as the Rockies' primary lefty relievers in the bullpen. Rusch will serve as a long reliever and spot starter while Embree will work as a setup man.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 12/11, 7:08 AM CT
The Rockies are waiting to hear back from Glendon Rusch regarding a minor league offer, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: Rusch made nine starts last season with Colorado, but his fantasy value would drop if the deal for starter Tim Redding goes through. Rusch held a barely passable 1.42 WHIP in 2008.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 12/9, 4:16 PM CT
The Rockies remain interested in Glendon Rusch, but the money available to sign him may change if they are to trade for starter Tim Redding, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: Rusch's role would mainly be a swingman, but that role would be reduced by signing another starter.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesMonday 12/8, 10:36 PM CT
The Rocky Mountain News reports that Colorado is expected to re-sign left-handed reliever Glendon Rusch.

Our View: Rusch was not great last season, as he posted a 5.16 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 83.2 innings, so fantasy owners should look somewhere else for production next year.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 11/30, 1:54 PM CT
The Rockies covet left-handed pitchers, and are believed to be interested in re-signing Glendon Rusch, according to BaseballProspectus.com.

Our View: Rusch held a barely passable 1.42 WHIP and poor 5.16 ERA in 2008, but the Rockies like his flexibility to be used out of the bullpen or as a spot-starter for the rotation.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 10/24, 10:32 AM CT
Glendon Rusch is discussing a new contract to remain with the Rockies, according to the Denver Post.

Our View: Rusch finished last year with a 5-5 record and a 5.16 ERA as a swing-man between the bullpen and rotation, and he may have to settle for a one year deal.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesThursday 9/11, 10:20 PM CT
Glendon Rusch entered the game in the sixth inning with the score tied at four against the Braves. After Rusch left the game, the Rockies were trailing. Rusch only lasted 0.2 of an inning while giving up four runs.

Our View: Rusch has an ERA of 5.38 on the year and has no fantasy value for any of your fantasy teams.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 8/3, 4:02 PM CT
The Rockies came from behind to get the win, but the pitching provided by LHP Glendon Rusch kept Colorado in position to do so, winning 3-2 with one run in each of the final three innings. Rusch pitched 5 1/3 innings, allowing just two runs (both earned) on six hits with one walk and eight strikeouts.

Our View: Rusch gets no decision and now touts an ERA of 5.47. He hasn't taken a loss since May 31st with a combined total of just 15 earned runs surrendered over seven starts since.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesTuesday 7/29, 9:11 PM CT
Glendon Rusch was solid tonight, throwing five innings and allowing three earned runs as the Rockies lost to the Pirates.

Our View: Rusch has seen his ERA drop from 7.36 to 5.70 after tonight, but using him, even in NL-only fantasy leagues, is not highly recommended.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 7/23, 5:33 PM CT
Glendon Rusch earned his third straight victory on Wednesday despite a less than impressive effort that included seven hits, two walks, three runs and just two K in five innings.

Our View: Rusch may have some value in NL only leagues, though we find it difficult to recommend a guy with an ERA that is pushing six and a WHIP of over 1.60 to anyone no matter what type of league they are in.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 7/9, 11:17 PM CT
Colorado LHP Glendon Rusch pitched a gem of a game this evening, leading his Rockies to an 8-3 win over Milwaukee. Rusch pitched six innings, allowing just one earned run on five hits with no walks and four strikeouts.

Our View: Rusch needed the win, having gone since April 26th without one. His use has been sporadic along the way but the Rockies need help in the rotation and feel Rusch can provide that arm. Tonight's showing gives a strong indication he might be up to the challenge.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesSaturday 5/31, 3:05 PM CT
Colorado LHP Glendon Rusch got his first decision for the month of May, but we doubt he's happy with the results, taking the 5-4 loss against the Chicago Cubs. Rusch lasted just 4 2/3 innings, allowing five runs (all earned) on nine hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

Our View: This was Rusch's fourth start of the month, but we are unsure what fact may be more concerning: This was his longest outing of that list, it was the first decision he has seen since April or that he now sits at 1-3 with a 7.03 ERA.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 5/30, 6:55 PM CT
Pitcher Glendon Rusch has been officially called up from Triple-A Colorado Springs, according to the AP. As an adjoining move, the team optioned lefty Josh Newman to Colorado Springs.

Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 5/30, 9:37 AM CT
The Denver Post reports that Glendon Rusch was told Thursday that he'll be called up to start on Saturday against the Cubs.

Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesWednesday 5/28, 5:43 PM CT
Glendon Rusch is a candidate to replace Jorge De La Rosa in the Rockies rotation. Rusch has posted a 0.82 ERA in two starts with Triple-A Colorado Springs since being released by the Padres earlier this month.

Our View: Rusch has a bit of value for teams because of his versatility, but he his value to fantasy squads is nil, especially in Colorado.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesFriday 5/16, 6:08 PM CT
The Rockies have acquired left-handed pitcher Glendon Rusch, according to the Denver Post. He signed a minor league deal with the team, and joined the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Triple-A) in Fresno today. He could be activated soon.

Our View: The reliever was previously released by the Padres. He can pitch in long relief and also could be used as a spot starter, and the Rockies like his versatility.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 5/11, 10:00 AM CT
The Padres outrighted Glendon Rusch on Saturday, and he has three days to accept a move to Triple-A or become a free agent. "Hopefully, it'll continue." Rusch tells the San Diego Union-Tribune. "I don't plan to hang 'em up. It was too much work to get up here. If I get released by four teams this year, then I'll hang 'em up."

Our View: It sounds like Rusch might try his hand with a different club. He has no fantasy value.
Glendon Rusch, P, Colorado RockiesSunday 3/23, 9:42 AM CT
Glendon Rusch has likely earned a spot in the Padres' bullpen, according to the North County Times. He notably started his off-season throwing program earlier than usual and it paid off, as he racked up 8.2 scoreless innings over his past four appearances. During that span, he has allowed a mere three hits and three walks with nine strikeouts, while lowering his spring ERA to 0.87. Rusch stated, "Honestly, it took the first couple of outings just to get in that game-mode again, but now I feel like I didn't miss any time." Hampson starting the season on the DL has helped his chances to lock down a spot in the pen even more.

Rusch threw three shutout innings, allowing just one hit and a walk, striking out four. The Padres could certainly use the help in the rotation and Rusch's performance today is a good sign of positive things to come. Rusch is going to get a hard look for the 5th spot in the starting rotation and days like this speak well of his potential.
