As expected, the Astros activated Orlando Palmeiro from the bereavement list prior to Wednesday's game, according to the AP. He had been away from the team since July 26, the day after his father died. Eric Bruntlett was optioned to Triple-A Round Rock to clear room on the roster.

Orlando Palmeiro will return from the bereavement list on Wednesday, according to the Astros website. Houston will make a subsequent roster move to create space for Palmeiro.
