This is a great move for the hard charging Twinkies.

Our View: The Twins are looking to bolster their bullpen for the stretch run, but they better hope Mahay is quite a bit better for them than he was for the Royals. If you can't hack it in Kansas City these days, it is hard to believe that things will be any better somewhere else. However, he could find a home in Minnesota as a lefty specialist to help out Jose Mijares.

Mahay saw a specialist on Monday and says he feels better. He takes anti-inflammatories, ices the foot and does stretching exercises. On Tuesday, he did some throwing before batting practice. He tells the Royals how the foot feels just before the game so they can decide if he's available to pitch. If he's not back in action during this series, the Royals might opt to put him on the disabled list.
