Travis Lee was granted his unconditional release by the Nationals on Sunday, according to the AP. He had been competing with Dmitri Young for the starting job at first base. Lee explained that he doesn't have the same passion for the game anymore, so it looks like his career may be over.

Travis Lee may miss the first week of the exhibition season due to a strained right oblique, according to the AP. He suffered the injury last Friday. "I'm not going to rush him back," Nationals manager Manny Acta said. "One week is not going to make it or break it for Travis Lee."
