Flyers tally three early, hang on to force Game 5 at Pittsburgh
Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Martin Biron made 36 saves to help the Philadelphia Flyers to a 4-2 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins, avoiding elimination in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals at the Wachovia Center.

Joffrey Lupul scored twice while Danny Briere and Jeff Carter each scored for the Flyers, who forced a Game 5, which will take place in Pittsburgh on Sunday afternoon. Scott Hartnell had three assists in the game.

Philadelphia is looking to become just the third team to come back from a 3-0 postseason series deficit. The New York Islanders a... More...

Player Notes
Kimmo Timonen, D Friday 5/16, 10:52 AM CT
Kimmo Timonen is going to skate on his own today with the hopes of playing as early as Sunday in Pittsburgh, according to the Courier Post. It had been thought that the defenseman was done for the year after doctors discovered a blood clot in his left foot, but it appears the injury isn't as severe as initially thought. Timonen said the decision over whether to return or not now rests with him. "If I feel (today) that I'm good to go for Sunday, then I'm good for Sunday," he said. "There is nothing to prevent me from playing.

Our View:The Flyers' playoff hopes are hanging on by a thread, and they could certainly use Timonen in the lineup. We'll let you know how his workout goes.
Braydon Coburn, D Thursday 5/15, 11:10 PM CT
Braydon Coburn hopes to be able to play in Game 5 after being forced to the press box because of an injury to his eye, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Nothing is certain at this point, but with the Flyers in do or die mode you know that Coburn is pushing hard to prove to the team that he is healthy enough to play.
Kimmo Timonen, D Thursday 5/15, 11:09 PM CT
Flyers defensmen Kimmo Timonen is close to returning to the ice from a blood clot in his ankle that has kept him out of action, according to the Associated Press. “There is nothing to prevent me from playing. I may have numbness in my toes, but if I can deal with that then I can play. We took another ultrasound, and based on that the doctor said I have a green light to give it a try. The doctor feels that there is no chance the clot is going to get loose or break up or anything like that. It’s a great sign.

Our View:Timonen is an immense presence on defense for what the Flyers try to do to other team's top skaters, so his return would make a huge difference, though its likely too late with the Flyers trailing three games to one.
