Zach Parise, LW Saturday 10/11, 9:47 PM CT
Forward Zach Parise scored an overtime winner in Saturday's 2-1 victory over the Penguins. Following a hot preseason, Parise has two goals in as many regular season games.

Our View: Parise, 24, posted similar numbers in his last two seasons, but he is showing signs of taking his scoring to another level.
Patrik Elias, LW Friday 10/10, 9:25 PM CT
Patrik Elias scored a goal on a wrist shot in Friday's 2-1 win over the Islanders in the season opener. The goal was assisted by Brian Gionta and Brian Rolston.

Our View: Elias has potential to score 40 goals while working on the left wing, and it didn't take long for him to pick up his first of the season.
Martin Brodeur, G Friday 10/10, 9:28 PM CT
Martin Brodeur stopped 25-of-26 shots in Friday's 2-1 win over the Islanders in the season opener.

Our View: The future Hall of Famer is averaging 45 wins over the last three seasons, and picked up career win No. 539 tonight.
Fedor Fedorov, LW Wednesday 10/8, 10:37 AM CT
Fedor Fedorov has cleared waivers with the Devils and will likely be assigned to AHL Lowell, according to the Bergen Record.

Our View: He may still return to Russia as an option. As for this season with New Jersey, he would hold no fantasy value.
Petr Vrana, C Monday 10/6, 9:01 AM CT
Petr Vrana has made the Devils' roster, according to the NY Post.

Our View: The rookie racked up 20 goals and 41 assists over 80 games in the minors last season, and could make a favorable impact if he sees enough playing time.
Ansi Salmela, D Monday 10/6, 9:05 AM CT
Ansi Salmela has nailed down a roster spot with the Devils, according to the NY Post.

Our View: The 23-year-old had 16 goals and 16 assists over 56 games with Tappara of the Finnish League last season, but may not see enough ice time with New Jersey in 2008 to merit fantasy consideration.
Nicklas Bergfors, RW Monday 10/6, 9:08 AM CT
Nicklas Bergfors has been assigned to Lowell by the Devils, according to the NY Post. Matt Corrente, Matt Halischuk, Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond, Pascal Rheaume and Scott Clemmensen were all assigned to Lowell as well.

Our View: None of these players look to merit fantasy attention if promoted by New Jersey at some point during the season.
Fedor Fedorov, LW Monday 10/6, 9:13 AM CT
Fedor Fedorov is likely to be waived by the Devils, according to the NY Post.

Our View: There was no room for him to contribute behind a crowded group of forwards, such as Patrik Elias, Brian Rolston, Brian Gionta, Zach Parise, Travis Zajac, and Jamie Langenbrunner. He will likely be sent overseas to work on his skills.
Brian Rolston, LW Saturday 10/4, 10:10 PM CT
Brian Rolston racked up a goal and an assist in Saturday's 4-3 preseason win over the Flyers.

Our View: Rolston is slated to serve as the Devils' first-line center in 2008. He may not top 30 goals for the fourth-straight season, but could potentially see a boost in assists.
Jamie Langenbrunner, RW Saturday 10/4, 10:15 PM CT
Jamie Langenbrunner chipped in a pair of assists in Saturday's 4-3 preseason win over the Flyers.

Our View: Langenbrunner looks to be healthy again this season, and could challenge 60 points over a full campaign, ranking him as a favorable bottom-of-the-lineup forward.
Brian Rolston, LW Saturday 10/4, 12:15 PM CT
Brian Rolston has looked great at center for the Devils, even though he hasn't played the position in four years, according to the NY Post. "I'm feeling more comfortable getting the puck in the middle of the ice," the 35-year-old said. "It takes a little time to get used to it, but we're only going to get better as a line."

Our View: Rolston could see a dip in goal production, but that would likely be made up with more assists.
Zach Parise, LW Friday 10/3, 9:20 PM CT
Zach Parise scored his fifth goal of the preseason in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Islanders.

Our View: Parise has been hot throughout the preseason. He had 32 goals and 33 assists last season nad could see improvement on those numbers this season.
Martin Brodeur, G Wednesday 10/1, 8:40 PM CT
Martin Brodeur shutout the New York Islanders with 16 saves on Wednesday night. The Devils defeated their opponents 3-0.

Our View: Brodeur is as good as it gets in the crease. He started 77 games last season, winning 44 of them. He posted a stellar 2.17 GAA.
Patrik Elias, LW Wednesday 10/1, 8:42 PM CT
Patrik Elias scored another goal on Wednesday as the Devils triumphed over the Islanders 3-0. He added an assist on Anssi Salmela's third period goal.

Our View: Elias is clearly comfortable on the left wing and is poised for a big season. Expect him to score closer to 40 goals this season as opposed to the 20 he netted last season.
