Columbus re-sign Picard, Methot, add Kelly
Columbus, OH (Sports Network) - The Columbus Blue Jackets re-signed forward Alexandre Picard and defenseman Marc Methot while inking forward Steve Kelly to a one-year, two-way contract, the club announced Wednesday. Per club policy, terms were not disclosed.

The 22-year-old Picard has one assist in 43 career NHL contests for the Blue Jackets, after the team made the Les Saules, Quebec native, their eighth overall choice in the 2004 Draft.

Chad LaRose has re-signed with the Hurricanes, according to the AP. The team avoided an arbitration hearing by inking him to a one-year deal, worth $875,000.

Our View:He was a member of their club that hoisted the Stanley Cup in 2006, and he reached new career highs with 11 goals and 23 points (over 58 games) last season. Two of his goals were game-winners and registered a hat trick on April 2 in a 6-2 win over the Lightning, and also scored a point in four of his last five appearances of the season.

Dennis Seidenberg has re-signed with the Hurricanes, according to the Sports Network. He agreed to a one-year deal worth $1.2 million.

Our View:The defenseman failed to score a goal over 47 games last season, but he did reach a new career-high with 15 assists. He holds no fantasy value, especially since he only registered 18 penalty minutes.
