Vaclav Prospal moved to Tampa Bay's third line during Monday's practice, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View:Prospal's stock is rising a bit, but you probably still don't want him starting unless no one else can go, because it's difficult to produce on a third line.
October 18, 2008
Vaclav Prospal has been promoted to the top line, according to the Tampa Tribune. He joins Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St. Louis.

Our View:Prospal replaces Ryan Malone, who failed to impress coach Barry Melrose. Prospal scored a career-high 33 goals with the Flyers last season, and could stay on par while serving on the top line in Tampa.
October 16, 2008
Vaclav Prospal did all he could, but despite his goal and assist, the Lightning fell to the Islanders, 2-1 in overtime.

Our View:Prospal also had four PIM, giving fantasy owners a very solid night. He now has one goal and two assists through four games.

TSN of Canada reports that Tampa Bay agreed with Vaclav Prospal to a multi-year contract after the Lightning acquired his rights from the Philadelphia Flyers on June 18 in exchange for Nashville's seventh-round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft and Tampa Bay's fourth-round pick in 2009. "We were very pleased to be able to announce last week that we had reached terms with Vinny Prospal to bring him back to Tampa," owners Oren Koules and Len Barrie said.

Our View:The 33-year-old recorded four goals and 14 points in 18 regular-season contests last year following the trade.
June 18, 2008
The Flyers traded the rights to Vaclav Prospal back to the Lightning on Wednesday and received a seventh-round pick in 2008 and a conditional selection in 2009. "Vinny really didn't express much of an interest in coming back and playing for us next season," Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren informs the Sports Network. "His heart is elsewhere."

Our View:Prospal is coming off a productive season (71 points, 80 games) that included 13 points in the playoffs. His fantasy value is better in Tampa, though, since that's where he is apparently happy.
May 14, 2008
Vaclav Prospal is wiping away suggestions that his legs are tired. The forward has just one point in the last four games and has been mostly invisible. "We're not producing," Prospal tells the Philadelphia Inquirer. "We haven't done anything in two games. It's frustrating for all of us. We have to get through it somehow. It has nothing to do with being tired. We have to create more."

Our View:Prospal may be the center of some heat because he was so productive against the Capitals earlier in the playoffs. He didn't take a shot on Tuesday night, which is pretty bad for one of the team's better play-makers.
April 19, 2008
Vaclav Prospal scored a goal and had an assist on Saturday, though it wasn't enough as the Flyers lost 3-2 to the Caps.

Our View:Prospal now has three goals and five assists in the playoffs as he has been everything that the club hoped for when they brought him over at the trade deadline.
April 15, 2008
Winger Vaclav Prospal was a great friend for his fellow Philadelphia Flyers tonight, doing all he could to help in the 3-6 trouncing of the Washington Capitals. Prospal picked up three assists on the evening, including two in the first with two of the three going to center Daniel Briere.

Our View:In the second game of the series, Prospal was quiet, but in the first he netted two goals and an assists. Now he touts six total points through three games as the series takes a lean towards Philadelphia, 2-1.
April 11, 2008
Vaclav Prospal scored two goals and added an assist in the Flyers 5-4 loss to the Capitals. Prospal scored 71 points in 79 games on the year, and his clutch scoring will go a long way to determining whether or not the Flyers advance in the playoffs.
April 1, 2008
Vaclav Prospal is expected to return to the ice on Wednesday, according to the Philadelphia Enquirer. He was previously out with the flu. Prospal has scored 69 points over 77 games this season and he will be a solid addition back to the lineup, which will move Steve Downie back down.
February 25, 2008
Vaclav Prospal has been traded to the Flyers in exchange for Alexandre Picard and a conditional draft pick, according to a report on the AP. The Flyers are in terrible need of a jolt having lost their leading sniper, Simon Gagne, and 10 of their last 11 games. Prospal should be able to provide ample offense as he currently has 57 points in 62 games as the Flyers need to find a way to replace the minutes they lost when Mike Richards went down with a groin injury.
February 8, 2008
Vaclav Prospal scored in overtime offering Tampa Bay a 2-1 win over Nashville on Thursday night. Prospal has recorded nine more goals than he managed all of last season and is only two behind his career high. His fantasy value rests as a No. 3 forward in traditional formats.
