The AP reports that Daymond Langkow scored early in the third period to help the Calgary Flames beat the Phoenix Coyotes 3-2 in exhibition play Wednesday night.

Our View:Langkow will turn 32 at the beginning of the hockey season, so he should still be at the top of his game. He has averaged 29 goals and 67 points in his three seasons in Calgary, and would be a solid addition to a fantasy hockey roster.

The Flames and Daymond Langkow have a deal in place to keep the center in Calgary, the Calgary Sun reports. Langkow is due to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Rumors suggest his new deal will be worth about $5 million per season.

Our View:Langkow has moved around quite a bit over his career, but he's been a steady fantasy tool over the last eight seasons. If he stays in Calgary, we can expect his 2008-09 numbers to resemble the digits he posted the last two campaigns.
