February 3, 2010 The Islanders have placed Brendan Witt on waivers, according to Newsday's Our View:Witt is under contract for $3 million next season, and it remains to be seen if he'll be claimed by someone else. |

November 2, 2009 Islanders' defenseman Brendan Witt scored two second period goals on Monday to lead his team to a 3-1 win over the Oilers. The tallies were Witt's first two of the season. Our View:Witt isn't known for his scoring, so two consecutive goals tonight was quite a surprise. He had only one point heading into tonight's game, so don't expect many more outbursts like this throughout the season. |
