Defenseman Brendan Witt was suspended five games for elbowing another player in the head, according to the AP.

Our View:Witt carries a (-31) to go with 75 penalty minutes and seven points in 49 games this season. The Islanders are not likely to miss him.

Brendan Witt will miss the next 3-4 weeks because of a lower body injury, according to ESPN. Brett Skinner will try to take up the place of Witt on the blue line.

Our View:Witt used to be fantasy relevant because of his PIM totals but last year he fell to just 51 PIM and clearly offers no reason to be on anyone's fantasy roster even when he is healthy.

Our View:The 33-year-old failed to score any points over six games with the Islanders, but held fantasy value with 17 penalty minutes.
