November 15, 2009 Our View:The team recalled Andew MacDonald to take Witt's place in Monday's game. No word as to what the personal matter consists of, but we will update if the news is released. |

November 2, 2009 Islanders' defenseman Brendan Witt scored two second period goals on Monday to lead his team to a 3-1 win over the Oilers. The tallies were Witt's first two of the season. Our View:Witt isn't known for his scoring, so two consecutive goals tonight was quite a surprise. He had only one point heading into tonight's game, so don't expect many more outbursts like this throughout the season. |

February 27, 2009 Defenseman Brendan Witt was suspended five games for elbowing another player in the head, according to the Our View:Witt carries a (-31) to go with 75 penalty minutes and seven points in 49 games this season. The Islanders are not likely to miss him. |
