According to the Minneapolis-St. Paul Tribune, the Minnesota Wild are going after long-time Canadien, Saku Koivu.

Our View:As an unrestricted free agent, Koivu could land anywhere, but most rumors have him going to the Wild to join his brother Mikko. The Habs have been busy this offseason, signing a glut of players and likely wouldn't have the cap room to bring Koivu back. He could be a fine second-line center in Minnesota.

ESPN.com reports that the Molson family has agreed in principle to purchase the Montreal Canadiens and Bell Center from current majority owner George Gillett.

Our View:The deal still needs approval from the NHL's Board of Governors, but is likely to be approved and should go through sometime mid-summer at the earliest. The sale was originally estimated to be worth $550 million, but recent reports have the total higher than that.

TSN is reporting that the Montreal Canadiens are expected to hold a press conference Monday afternoon to announce the hiring of Jacques Martin as their new head coach. Montreal will be his fourth head coaching stop, as he held the position in St. Louis, Ottawa, and Florida previously.

Our View:Martin has a very solid reputation in the NHL, but this move comes as a surprise to many in the Montreal area. Martin will have a difficult task facing him, as the Canadiens are riddled with question marks heading into the summer.
