Former Sharks defenseman Kyle McLaren's trade to the Flyers has been nullified after he failed to pass a physical exam, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Our View:It is presumed McLaren failed his physical due to a hand injury he sustained during a fight in December. The Sharks plan to have him continue his rehab before he is reassigned to Worcester of the AHL.
March 4, 2009
The Flyers have acquired Kyle McLaren from the Sharks in exchange for a sixth-round pick, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:McLaren does not score that often, but holds value as an enforcer with 84 penalty minutes over 61 games. He should continue to intimidate with his new club.
October 8, 2008
The AP reports that Kyle McLaren passed through waivers and has been assigned to Worcester of the American Hockey League.

Our View:The defenseman recorded three goals and eight assists in 61 games for San Jose last season - his fifth with the team after being acquired from the Boston Bruins in 2003.
