Our View:This is terrible news for the Stars, especially since the team announced that Philippe Boucher is also day to day with an injured foot. Zubov, who skated in only 46 games last season because of sports hernia, is now 38 years old so each successive injury will likely diminish his game even further. Knock him down your draft board considerably due to this news. |

Zubov has been out since January 19th with various concerns, most notably the recovery from surgery on his right foot performed in late February. However, reports have been revolving of his potential return during the last week, yet the Stars' leading enforcer continues to sit. Our View:Zubov scored 35 points over 46 games during the regular season, but his addition to the ice will not be one for points should he return during this Western Conference semifinal series against the San Jose Sharks. As is often the case, the teams are engaged in a heated battle that appears to get more heated with each passing minute. Having the presence of Zubov on the ice, capable of keeping the Sharks' more aggressive advances in check, would be of great benefit. If we receive more news on his status, we will be sure to pass it along. |

Our View:Zubov has been out since January 19th with a several issues, including surgery performed on February 24th to place a screw in a bone in his right foot. He started skating again after that, then had a recurrence of the sports hernia injury that dates back to last year's playoffs, which led to surgery earlier this month in Germany - his second operation for that injury since last season. Coach Dave Tippett didn't say when Zubov might play, but listed the defenseman as "day to day," though he indicates Zubov will practice with the team again on Wednesday. |
