The Dallas News suggests that the Star postseason surge likely gave Mike Modano reason to return in 2008-09. "There's a little bit of indecision still there," Modano said. "The big tell is going to be when I have to start working out again. That's when I will know if I'm ready to do it again or not."

Our View: Modano, who scored 57 points during the regular season, said getting to the conference finals has him thinking this team can make one more push for the Stanley Cup.

Mike Modano noted on Tuesday that he plans to return for at least one more season, according to CBSsports.com. He mentioned that good friend Brett Hull wouldn't let him retire.

Our View:He will turn 38 in June, but expects to return for his 19th season in the NHL. He is aging, but could still challenge 20 goals next season.

Veteran center Mike Modano is not the prolific scorer he once was, but he still gets the job done when the job gets tough. Tonight he scored the Stars' game-winning goal to put Dallas back in the hunt for survival, winning 3-1 in Game 4 of the Western Conference finals over Detroit.

Our View:With that said, the series is now at 3-1 in favor of Detroit, and Modano's goal may prove to be one of few highlights for Dallas in this series.
