Markus Naslund is looking to bounce back in 2008 with the Rangers following two straight disappointing campaigns with the Canucks, according to Newsday. He said, "The last two seasons haven't been as good as I hoped. I'm looking at it as a challenge to show I can play up to my standards. I've been really fortunate when it comes to injuries up to this point. I still think I've got a few more years to stay healthy and play good hockey."

Our View:The 35-year-old only averaged 57.5 points over his last two campaigns with Vancouver. He could post better numbers this season in New York, but is no longer capable of challenging 40 goals.

Markus Naslund has signed a two-year deal worth $8 million to play for the New York Rangers, according to Slam! Sports.

Our View:Naslund is still a useful fantasy player, but he is 35 years of age, and his point total has dipped in recent years, so he is clearly not what he once was.

Markus Naslund wants to play in the NHL again next season, even if it isn't with the Canucks, the Vancouver Province reports. "It was not a hard decision to make with a little distance to everything. I feel very motivated to continue playing in NHL," he explains. "Money is not most important to me, I prioritize the social part, what type of hockey the team plays and which type of players they have. To play for another club in the same division would feel weird. But we will have to wait and see what happens."

Our View:Naslund turns 35 this July and has seen his point total slip to 60 and 55 the past two seasons. Someone will give undoubtedly him a shot, but Markus is no longer highly coveted in fantasy circles.

Markus Naslund may or may not return to the Canucks next season, this according to the Vancouver Sun. Naslund's contract is up, and at 35 years of age coming off a 55 point season, Naslund will likely have to take a pay cut to return. The truth is that Naslund will have to take a pay cut no matter where he ends up after seasons of 60 and 55 points, this after a stretch of 5-straight seasons with at lest 75 points.
