Alexei Kovalev scored two goals on Thursday night in the Habs OT victory over the Flyers.

Our View:Kovalev has been in the middle of a lot of scoring in the playoffs with four goals and four assists in eight games. Look for that level of production to continue as long as the Habs are playing.

Alexei Kovalev and Saku Koivu both missed practice on Thursday, but the team is fully confident that they will both be ready for Game 1 of the second round, according to NHL.com.

Our View:Players often take time off at this time of year, and these two veterans certainly know how to prepare themselves without needing to take part in every skate around.

Our View:Kovelav had a great night when the team needed him most, and he finished the first round series with two goals and four assists.

Alexei Kovalev scored a power-play goal in OT to lead the Canadiends to a 3-2 victory over the Bruins to take a 2-0 series lead. Kovalev also added an assist in the game.

Our View:The Habs offensive leader all season long, Kovalev continues to be virtually unstoppable on the power-play as he fires pucks from the wing.

Alexei Kovalev recorded his 30th goal of the season in a losing effort against Anaheim. That was his first goal since February 19th, when he scored a pair against the Rangers.

Alexei Kovalev didn't score a goal on Thursday night but he was still all over the stat sheet as he produced three assists in the team's victory. In 19 games since the all-star break, Kovalev has totaled eight goals and 27 points.

Alexei Kovalev took his second straight therapy on Thursday, this according to TSN.ca. The report notes that with 18 games remaining in the regular season, and back-to-back games this weekend, head coach Guy Carbonneau says as long as Kovalev (or any of his veterans) can show they are ready to play and perform, then he is willing to let them take two, three or even four days off between games. Kovalev is suffering from a sore foot, but reportedly told the Canadian Press he would be in the lineup this weekend.

In what has become common place of late, Alexei Kovalev scored two points on Thursday night, both assists, in Montreal's loss. In his last 11 contest Kovalev has seven goals and 10 assists. Going back further, Kovalev has 40 points in his last 37 games.

Alexei Kovalev scored a goal and added two assists in the Canadiens 5-3 victory over the Flyers. Kovalev continues to be one of the league's biggest surprises this year as he is now up to 27 goals, just three away from his first 30-goal season since 2001-02. Kovalev has also been hotter than a firecracker of late with five goals and eight assists in just nine February games.

Alexei Kovalev scored the OT winner on the power-play, his 15th goal with the man advantage, in Montreal's 2-1 victory over the Panthers. Kovalev is one of the 10-most gifted offensive players in the NHL but consistency always seems to elude him. This year he has found that which he had lost as he now has 26 goals and 55 points in just 58 games making him one of the best late round gambles this season.
