Slam! Sports is reporting that Teemu Selanne has said officially that next season will be his last in the NHL. Selanne turns 39 on Friday, and he is a ten-time All-Star.

Our View:Selanne has hinted at retirement over the last few years, but he has never made a definitive statement. This seems like the real deal, so all Selanne fans may want to watch as many games as possible this year. He will still have fantasy value next season, so give him a look at draft time.

According to TSN.com, Teemu Selanne will avoid retirement and play in the NHL with the Ducks next season.

Our View:The news that Scott Niedermayer decided to stick around likely influenced Selanne, and the Ducks get a nice boost by having him put on the Anaheim uniform for another season. He can still get it done, as the aging superstar notched 27 goals and 27 assists in just 65 games last year.

Teemu Selanne scored twice Thursday night as the Ducks defeated Vancouver 6-5 in a shootout at General Motors Place.

Our View:The 38-year-old has shown he still has that scoring touch. He reached the 25-goal mark for the 12th time in his 16-year career and is threatening to reach 50 points in a season for the 13th time.
