David Jones scored twice in the Avalanche's 4-7 loss to Chicago on Friday night.

Our View:The right winger should replace the departed Andrew Brunette in Colorado's rotation this season. That makes him fantasy noteworthy, especially in deep leagues.

David Jones seemingly made a fast recovery from his left ankle injury, as he practiced at close to full speed after leaving the Xcel Energy Center on Friday night in a walking cast, according to the Denver Post. The rookie stated, "It hurt a lot in the game, and I couldn't finish it. But that day off really took care of it. I iced it all day, and it feels great." The team noted that he may play tonight.

Our View:He scored six points over 26 games this season, with one power-play goal, and his fantasy stock remains low for the playoffs.

Rookie David Jones picked up his first NHL goal during Tuesday's game. Jones, like teammate Joe Sakic ended up with two assists and three points in the contest. Jones has his work cut out for him to catch up to Sakic's 620 career goals.
