Updating an earlier report, Paul Stastny has been officially ruled out of the remainder of the second round due to an injured knee, according to TSN.

Our View:Besides trailing three games to none, the Av's will also be without two of their other best players in Ryan Smyth and Peter Forsberg. Look for the Wings to end this series in Game 4.

Paul Stastny, who is nursing a knee injury, will be re-evaluated today, according to the Rocky Mountain News. He is considered doubtful for the remainder of the series against Detroit.

Our View:Colorado is on the verge of elimination and Detroit will go in for the kill if Stastny cannot return. He led the team in scoring with 71 points over 66 games in the regular season.

Already ruled out for Game 4, a match that could spell the end for Colorado's season, the Avs' leading scorer Paul Stastny is now considered doubtful for the rest of the series regardless of how long it lasts, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:Stastny sustained a knee injury during the first period of Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Detroit Red Wings and did not return to the ice. Stastny was Colorado's leading assist (47) and point (71) man during the season and his loss is a troubling reality for the Avs they hope to avoid elimination, down 3-0 to Detroit in the series.
