Erik Johnson may sit out on Saturday against the Blue Jackets as he fights an upper-body injury, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Johnson has really struggled this month, tallying just three points in 13 games. A day off would likely do him some good. He is day-to-day.

Former Blues head coach Andy Murray was fired for "smothering" the team's young players with "details," according to the Toronto Sun.

Our View:With young guns Erik Johnson, David Backes, T.J. Oshie, David Perron and Patrik Berglund all on the roster and underperforming in St. Louis, the newspaper believes the team had no choice but to fire the "technocrat" Murray. After a 6-3 loss to Chicago on Saturday in the first game of the post-Murray era, we will find out quickly whether or not the former head man was actually the problem.

Erik Johnson will be back in the lineup on Thursday night, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He was a healthy scratch on Tuesday against the Predators.

Our View:The scratch was made in an effort to motivate the young defenseman. While 21 points in 38 games is not bad for a blue liner, the Blues expect more from their former No. 1 pick.
