Corey Crawford has re-signed the Blackhawks, according to the AP. He agreed to a one-year deal, but financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View:The 23-year-old went 1-2 with a 2.14 GAA with Chicago in 2007-08. He is expected to hold a larger role next season, and could play as many 30 games while serving as the top backup to starter Nikolai Khabibulin.

Corey Crawford could hold a larger role next season, according to the Chicago Tribune. Crawford could play as many as 30 games behind starter Nikolai Khabibulin next season, and GM Dave Tallon noted, "He showed he can play; it's time. He has had two really good years in the American Hockey League. We're very confident in his abilities." Crawford went 1-2 over three starts this season, with a .929 SV%.

Rookie Corey Crawford stopped all 19 shots he faced on Wednesday night to earn his first victory, and shutout, of his NHL career. Crawford will likely only see action if Nikolai Khabibulin continues to be sidelined due to back spasms as Patrick Lalime, the former backup, has been strong in net since taking over for the injured Khabibulin.

Corey Crawford will start between the pipes for the Blackhawks on Wednesday, the Chicago Tribune confirms. Crawford, 23, is the team's goalie of the future, but he is just giving Patrick Lalime a night off at this point.

The Blackhawks recalled Corey Crawford from Rockford of the AHL Thursday. The team needed some depth after starter Nikolai Khabibulin went down with a knee injury last night. Crawford is a good prospect but doesn't figure to get much playing time right now.
