Chad LaRose has re-signed with the Hurricanes, according to the AP. The team avoided an arbitration hearing by inking him to a one-year deal, worth $875,000.

Our View:He was a member of their club that hoisted the Stanley Cup in 2006, and he reached new career highs with 11 goals and 23 points (over 58 games) last season. Two of his goals were game-winners and registered a hat trick on April 2 in a 6-2 win over the Lightning, and also scored a point in four of his last five appearances of the season.

Chad LaRose had the game of his life as he scored a hat-trick to lead the Hurricanes to a 6-2 victory over the Lightning. LaRose has been on a nice little run of late with four goals and five points in his last four games though keep your expectations muted if the Canes make the playoffs as he still has only 11 goals and 22 points in 57 games this season.

With Richard Park on the shelf for at least three weeks after undergoing shoulder surgery, the Hurricanes' winger Chad LaRose didn't waste much time after being activated from the injured reserve Friday--scoring with less than three minutes to go in the first period. LaRose played on the high octane line with Trevor Letowski and red-hot Tuomo Ruutu.

The Hurricanes activated Chad LaRose from IR Friday. He had missed 21 games after breaking his leg Feb. 5 at Nashville. LaRose is a gritty player that the Canes will welcome back to their lineup, but you don't need to go pick him up.

Chad LaRose took to the ice on Monday for the first time since breaking his leg in February 5th, this according to the Raleigh News and Observer. LaRose skated for only 15 minutes and will be handled gingerly due to the nature of the injury. There is still a chance that LaRose could miss the rest of the season if he doesn't show progress in the next two weeks.

Chad Larose broke his leg Tuesday on his first shift of the game when he crashed into the boards. It's not clear at this point how long he'll be out, but obviously it will be for a while. "It's a big deal," coach Peter Laviolette said in the Raleigh News-Observer. "He's got a broken leg, and he's going to be out for a while. He's an energy guy and a heart and soul guy on this team. And he'll be missed."
