According to the Sports Ticker, Tampa Bay defenseman Paul Ranger will undergo surgery on his shoulder March 3. Teammate Andrej Maszaros will undergo the same procedure on the same date.

Our View:Ranger, who GM Brian Lawton said has been playing with the injury for a majority of the season, will have surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder by Dr. James Andrew, in Birmingham, Alabama.

Paul Ranger is questionable for tonight's home game against the Thrashers due to an upper-body injury, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View:Ranger should be held out of fantasy lineups to be safe. The club did not speculate as to when he may be ready to return.

Defenseman Paul Ranger remains day-to-day with an upper-body injury, according to the St. Petersburg Times. He has missed a week of action to date.

Our View:The young blue liner will not be rushed back to the struggling Tampa Bay squad. He holds some value in deep leagues that account for penalty minutes.

Paul Ranger will miss Wednesday's game with an undisclosed injury, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View:Ranger seems to be fragile of late. He returned to the ice less than a week ago after missing a month with an upper-body injury. No word what the current injury is or how long it will keep him out.

Paul Ranger is set to return to the ice tonight against the Coyotes after missing three straight games with an upper-body injury, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View:He is among the Lightning's top defensemen, but only holds value in deeper fantasy leagues with two goals, 11 assists and 52 penalty minutes over 33 games.
