October 15, 2008 Paul Ranger has been cleared to return to action after doctors determined his surgically repaired right shoulder is sufficiently healed, according to the Our View:Ranger, who has been out of action since April because of arthroscopic surgery on the shoulder, could play as early as Thursday for the Bolts who certainly could use a jolt in what has been a slow start to the 2008 campaign. |

He would hold value as a defenseman for deeper leagues, as he contributed 31 points (10 goals) over 72 games last season. |
