Paul Ranger has been cleared to return to action after doctors determined his surgically repaired right shoulder is sufficiently healed, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View:Ranger, who has been out of action since April because of arthroscopic surgery on the shoulder, could play as early as Thursday for the Bolts who certainly could use a jolt in what has been a slow start to the 2008 campaign.

Paul Ranger will visit his surgeon today to decide if he will be medically cleared to return to action, according to the Tampa Tribune.

Our View:Ranger, who is recovering from shoulder surgery, is fully practicing again, and could return to the ice as soon as Thursday if cleared to play. He would hold value as a defenseman for deeper leagues, as he contributed 31 points (10 goals) over 72 games last season.
