Tuukka Rask has been sent down to Providence of the AHL, according to the AP.

Our View:Rask held a 2-1-1 record with a 3.25 goals-against average and .886 save percentage over four games with Boston last season. He is a former first-rounder, but there is no room in Boston for him right now with Tim Thomas and Manny Fernandez entrenched in the top two spots at goalie.

Tuukka Rask picked up a win in his first NHL start on Tuesday when the Bruins topped the Maple Leafs 4-2. He made 30 saves against the team that traded him to Boston last year.

Our View:Rask is a former first-round draft pick and the goalie of the future in Beantown. However, the Bruins already have Tim Thomas, and Manny Fernandez is nearing a return from a knee injury, so Rask’s first stint in the NHL probably won’t last long.

The Bruins recalled Tuukka Rask from the AHL on Thursday, according to the AP. He was serve as the primary backup to starter Tim Thomas while Manny Fernandez is sidelined.

Our View:Rask will most likely get a little playing time, as the Bruins consider him their goalie of the future and would presumably like to see how he’s developing. However, Thomas has been the team’s most valuable player thus far, so fantasy owners shouldn’t expect too much from Rask.
