Rene Bourque registered 19 penalty minutes Tuesday against Washington, according to the Calgary Herald. The Flames were still able to win the game 2-1.

Our View:Bourque has registered 25 penalty minutes over six games, to go along with one goal and two assists. He could challenge 20 goals in his first campaign with Calgary this season.

Rene Bourque left Calgary's 8-2 win over Florida with an apparent leg injury according to the Calagary News. It is said to be a minor ding and he should not miss any regular season time.

Our View:set the tone on the game's opening shift as he bashed everything that moved on the forecheck. His statline read one goal, three shots and a plus-one rating in 5:52 of ice time -- not a bad night's work for a guy striving to be a second-line winger.

Rene Bourque has inked a deal with the Flames after being acquired from the Blackhawks earlier in the week, according to the AP. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Our View:Bourque chipped in 10 goals and 14 assists (24 points) over 62 games with Chicago in 2007-08. Two of his goals were game-winners. He was a solid signing for Calgary, and could challenge 20 goals if he gets enough ice time this season.

Rene Bourque was acquired by the Flames on Tuesday in exchange for a second round draft pick, according to TSN. "Rene is a young player with size who will play in our top nine forwards," said Flames GM Darryl Sutter. "He will be an important part of the remaking of our left side along with other young players already under contract."

Our View:Bourque scored 10 goals and 24 points last season and now has 75 points in 183 career games. There is still some upside here, but we may be talking about 20-goals and not 30.
