Jeff Carter scored again on Saturday, giving him goals in four of his last five contests. He also notched an assist, giving him 18 points in 19 games on the year.

Our View:Carter's been on fire and has been one of the top goal-scorers in the league this season.
November 21, 2008
Jeff Carter blasted two goals in Friday's 3-0 win over the Sabres.

Our View:He has collected a goal in three of his last four games, and has 13 for the season. He is on pace to top 30 goals for the first time in his career.
November 15, 2008
Jeff Carter scored his 11th goal of the year on Saturday late in the second period. It put the Flyers up 2-0, and proved to be the game winner as they dropped Montreal 2-1.

Our View:Carter is a solid centerman for goal production right now. Keep him in your lineup.
November 6, 2008
Jeff Carter was held scoreless on Thursday night to snap a 7-game point streak during which time he produced seven goals and three assists.

Our View:Carter has really stepped up his play with the club needing offense because of the injury to Daniel Briere, and in so doing he has thrust himself from being a solid fantasy option to a potential star in the making with his hot start.
October 30, 2008
Jeff Carter scored his seventh and eighth of the season on Thursday night's 3-2 win over the Islanders.

Our View:Carter is a solid fantasy option in 2008-09. He has already scored eight goals in 10 games.
October 25, 2008
Jeff Carter put home his sixth goal of the season in overtime to lead the Flyers to a 3-2 win over New Jersey. He also tallied an assist in the game.

Our View:Carter now has eight points in eight games, and is looking more and more like a solid fantasy option after his 29-goal season last year.
June 27, 2008
Jeff Carter has agreed to a three-year extension with the Flyers worth $15 million, according to TSN.ca.

Our View:Carter racked up 29 goals and 24 assists over 82 games with the Flyers in 2007-08 and the club wanted to make sure to lock him up before he hit the free agent market on July 1.
June 20, 2008
Jeff Carter has reportedly re-signed with the Flyers for three years, according to Sportsnet.ca. The deal is believed to pay him no less than $15 million.

Our View:Signing him eliminates the risk of him getting strong offers from other clubs. He stayed intact for all 82 games with Philadelphia in 2007-08, and just missed a 30-goal season with 29, to go along with 24 assists.
May 18, 2008
Jeff Carter was held scoreless on Sunday as he was a (-3) for the Flyers who were eliminated from the playoffs by the Penguins.

Our View:Carter was a (-5) in the five game series with the Penguins, but don't let that override what was a solid playoffs that included seven points in his last nine games.
May 12, 2008
Jeff Carter contributed a goal in Sunday's 4-2 loss to Pittsburgh.

Our View:That was his fifth goal of the playoffs, and his first point in the series against the Penguins. He now has 10 points over 14 playoff games.
May 4, 2008
Jeff Carter chipped in two assists in Saturday's 6-4 win over Montreal in Game 5. Carter has now recorded an assist in three straight games.

Our View:Carter has nine points over 12 playoff games this season. He scored 53 points (29 goals) over 82 games in the regular season, and has stepped up his game as he helped lead the Flyers into the next round of action.
April 18, 2008
Consider the Flyers happy that they didn't move Jeff Carter when they had the chance to this season, this according to the AP. “We’ve been happy with Jeff all year,” coach John Stevens said . “Maybe at times he didn’t score as consistently as perceived he should, but he’s a very responsible defensive player. He plays in every situation possible. He’s a very fit individual, so he’s capable of playing a lot of minutes

Our View:Carter has three goals and an assist in the first four games of the playoffs for the Flyers, and he continues to be the type of unlikely scoring source that team's need to be successful in the playoffs.
April 13, 2008
Jeff Carter netted a first period goal in Sunday's 2-1 win over the Capitals.

Our View:Carter scores a career-high 29 goals in the regular season, and he's not afraid to put the puck on net. We feel like he may have another tier to climb and a strong playoff run could generate fantasy value for 2008-09.
April 2, 2008
Jeff Carter scored his 29th goal of the season on Wednesday night as he pumped seven shots on goal in the Flyers' loss. After a down sophomore season (14-23-37), Carter has responded extremely well with 29 goals and 50 points through 80 games this season. He may still have another level next season, so if you are looking to add depth at the center position come next years draft, Carter may be worth a look.

The Toronto Sun reports that Maple Leafs interim general manager Cliff Fletcher told the media the team that skates on to the ice for the season opener next October will look rather different than the one skating today. Whether the Leafs can pick up some integral pieces in free agency beginning July 1 remains to be seen, but the class of free agents this summer will not be as strong as it was in 2007. There remains talk that one restricted free agent who could get an offer sheet is Flyers winger Jeff Carter , who would have been a Leaf had Tomas Kaberle waived his no-trade clause last month.
March 6, 2008
The red-hot Jeff Carter scored two goals on Thursday night including the game-winner for the Flyers. Carter has five goals and seven points in his last four games. Carter now has a career-high 25 goals on the year as he has benefited greatly of late from the extra ice-time he is getting due to the injury to Mike Richards.
March 1, 2008
Jeff Carter scored a goal and recorded a helper in Philadelphia's 4-1 win on Saturday over the New York Islanders. Carter now has 40 points in 64 games this season, and has two goals in three games after a five-game drought.
February 21, 2008
Jeff Carter was held goalless on Thursday night for the 13th time in 14 games as he still sits on 19 markers for the year. Carter's career-high is 23 goals set in his rookie season, so he certainly has plenty of time to reach that level again this year as a nice depth player in really deep leagues.
