Our View:He claims it feels better when skating, but keep an eye on his ice-time. This may turn into a nagging injury that may reduce the high scoring defensemen's production going forward. |

Our View:Green is going very early in drafts this season because of last year's prodigious goal total, and he figures to get ample power-play time with Alexander Ovechkin giving him a shot to duplicated his production from last season. |

Our View:Green took off last season after the coaching change and should contniue to make his impact this season. He turns 23 in October so the best is yet to come. July 1, 2008 Mike Green has put his name on the dotted line for a 4-year year, $21 million contract to remain with the Capitals, according to ESPN. "Mike has developed into an impact defenseman in the short time since we drafted him, and he will be a key part of our team moving forward," general manager George McPhee said. Our View:This is a pretty big contract for a guy who entered last season with just 15 points scored. Green took his game to a whole other level last season though with 18 goals and 56 points for the Caps. He should continue to run the power-play with Alexander Ovechkin and produce stellar numbers. |

Our View:Green has been a godsend this season as he has scored 21 goals and 63 points in 88 regular season and playoff games. The club will once again look for offense from their rearguard in Game 7 when the Capitals will be playing their first Game 7 at home since May 1, 1992. |
