According to the AP, The colorado Avalanche re-signed forward Wojtek Wolski to a two-year contract on Wednesday.

Our View:The organization still desperately hopes that Sakic will return. Wolski, who followed up a 22 goal rookie season with 18 scores last year, will be entering his third season looking to take the next step after averaging 49 points the past two years.

Wojtek Wolski will move over to the center position if captain Joe Sakic calls it a career, according to the Denver Post. "It's in our interest to give [Sakic] the time he needs," GM Francois Giguere said.

Wojtek Wolski sustained an upper-body injury in Game 1 against Detroit and is expected to miss the rest of the series, according to the Rocky Mountain News.
