Blake Wheeler entered Thursday nights game with three goals in 12 games, so of course he went out and scored three goals in the Bruins 5-2 victory over the Leafs for the first hat-trick of his career.

Our View:The rookie who was a first round selection by the Coyotes in 2004, had one of the goals go for the game winner while scoring once on the power-play and finally into the open net for a Bruins club that has scored a power-play goal for the ninth time in 13 games.

The Bruins will keep rookie forward Blake Wheeler on their opening night roster according to the AP. Wheeler was the fifth choice in the 2004 draft by Phoenix, but played instead with Green Bay of the United States Hockey League for one year and at the University of Minnesota for two.

Our View:It remains to be seen what kind of production we can expect from Wheeler but he is too much of a wild card to draft in fantasy leagues. He has had a good preseason and is a player worth keeping an eye on this season.

Bruins rookie Blake Wheeler, the fifth overall selection of the Coyotes in the 2004 draft, has played well enough that he deserves a spot on the roster, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Wheeler became a free agent after deciding not to sign with the Coyotes when they offered him the maximum entry-level contract. Wheeler has limited fantasy value, as he would likely play on the third-line to start the season.
