Evgeni Malkin left Tuesday's game in the second period after he was hit in the face with the puck, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Malkin has been one of the best players in the game the last two years. If he's out for an extended period of time, it would be devastating for both the Penguins and his fantasy owners.

Evgeni Malkin had a monster game for Pittsburgh scoring a goal and adding three assists. He already led the league in helpers, and now extended his lead over teammate Sidney Crosby as Malkin is up to 23 compared to Crosby's 16.

Our View:Malkin's looking like an MVP candidate for the second straight year. Trading him for anything outside of a monster package in fantasy would just be silly at this point.

Evgeni Malkin scored a goal and had an assist as he fired five shots on net for the Penguins on Thursday night. Malkin has now recorded a point in 11-straight games (5g, 18a). Petr Sykora also added two assists in the victory.

Our View:Malkin is second in the league in points with 26 as he has totaled 20 assists in just 16 games. He has only six goals, but there is no reason to doubt that he wont pick up the pace there, and who really cares when the guy is scoring points at a pace of more than two per game as he has during the streak?
