Flyers defenseman Randy Jones said he still is quite a bit of time away from returning after hip surgery, according to the Philadelphia Daily News. "It will probably be another 5 or 6 weeks before I'm playing again and probably another 2 weeks before I'm skating. It will probably take me 2 to 3 weeks conditioning-wise to get back into it," Jones said.

Our View:Jones racked up 31 points and 58 PIM while accumulating a +8 last season. His timetable means his return could come before the end of the calendar year.

Randy Jones' hip surgery went better than expected and the hope is that he will be back in around two months and not the 3-4 that were originally estimated, according to The Philadelphia News. "The doctor got in there and what they thought was a boney issue in the joint apparently wasn't," general manager Paul Holmgren said. "It's really good news."

Our View:Jones will still miss a couple of months, but this is clearly good news for a team that has been forced to go with youngsters like Andrew Alberts and Luca Sbisa on the backend.

Defenseman Randy Jones will undergo right hip surgery this week and could miss up to four months, the AP reports. He has a torn labrum.

Our View:We previously saw a timeline of 6-8 weeks, so this is worrisome. Fantasy owners should feel free to drop him.
