Christian Ehrhoff tied a career best with three points (all assists) as the Sharks set a team record with nine points from the blue line in their 6-1 defeat of the Flames.

Our View:Ehrhoff is tied with Filip Kuba and Shea Weber for the NHL lead in points by a blue liner with 15. Ehrhoff has long had the skills needed to produce points, but he has settled in to the new offense in San Jose this year and looks like a totally different player. We would be shocked if he kept this up, but he clearly has a chance to be a top-10 point producer from the blue line this season given his hot start.

Defenseman Christian Ehrhoff re-signed with the San Jose Sharks on Wednesday, agreeing to a three-year deal worth $9.3 million, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Ehrhoff, a German Olympian who has spent his entire NHL career with San Jose, was a restricted free agent. He had one goal and 21 assists last season in 77 games, leading the team with 108 blocked shots. Ehrhoff also played through a serious ankle injury in the postseason, recording five assists in 10 games.

Christian Ehrhoff chipped in two assists in Tuesday's 5-3 win over Calgary. He racked up three assists over four games played in the series.

Our View:He stepped up his game in the playoffs, as he only scored 22 points over 77 games in the regular season. Continue to pencil him into your playoff lineups while he is hot.

Christian Ehrhoff likely won't be able to play in Game 1 against the Flames, this according to the Sharks Official Website. “He probably won’t play tomorrow,” head coach Ron Wilson said on Tuesday. Who will take Ehrhoff's spot in the lineup? Wilson did not say but he will have to chose between Sandis Ozolinsh, Alexei Semenov and Matt Carle.

Christian Ehrhoff is likely out of action for today due to his lower-body injury, according to the Mercury News. He should be ready to play for the postseason however.
