It's official according to the Rocky Mountain News, the Chicago Blackhawks have signed former Washington Capitals goaltender Cristobal Huet to a four-year, $22.4 million deal.

Our View:Huet played in 52 games between Montreal and Washington last year recording 32 wins against 14 losses.

Cristobal Huet left the Capitals and joined the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday, according to TSN.

Our View:This is an interesting move to say the least. Huet played marvelously down the stretch for the Caps, but the club decided to do with Jose Theodore instead. Huet was thought to be in the market to start, but instead he will apparently be in a time share situation in Chicago with Nikolai Khabibulin, that is unless the Blackhawks plan on moving the Bulin Wall.

Goalie Cristobal Huet is working on a new deal with the Capitals, according to the Washington Post. Talks have been productive and well-intentioned, and Huet is looking for a three-year deal.

Our View:Huet won 11-of-13 starts to close out the regular season, and helped lead the Capitals to their first playoff appearance in five years. The team is likely moving on from veteran goalie Olaf Kolzig, so signing Huet should be a top priority.
