Jordin Tootoo continued a nice preseason and he may have played his way onto the second line for Nashville. On Friday, he had a goal and two assists as the Predators defeated the Thrashers 6-4 according to the AP. "I'm trying to become a more well-rounded player," said Tootoo, who was involved in a second-period fight. "I want to stay physical, but also be a threat to help out offensively." Nashville coach Barry Trotz was impressed by Tootoo's performance. "We're seeing the evolution of Jordin Tootoo," Trotz said. "I told him he needs to play that Gary Roberts-type game. Play with that edge, but also the skill game."

Our View:Tootoo's goal came on a power play which is of note because he had no power-play points a season ago. He also had a power-play assist. He had been asked not to fight in the preseason but he could wait no longer as he got into a scrap in the second period. Regardless, Tootoo holds great sleeper value especially in leagues that reward penalty minutes.

Jordin Tootoo could start the season on the Predators' second line, according to the Tennessean.

Our View:Tootoo is already known to be a punishing hitter, but he has improved his offensive skills in the off-season. Tootoo already holds favorable value in leagues that award points for penalty minutes as he notched 100 in 2007, and now looks to add more scoring this season as well, making him a good value pick for the late rounds.

Jordin Tootoo has two goals and has been a general pest in the first two games of the Preds series with the Red Wings, but the team will need a better effort to avoid falling behind the Wings 3-0 on Monday night.

Our View:Alexander Radulov has the only other goal for the Predators who simply must find a way to solve Dominik Hasek or they will likely be sitting at home very soon.
