Ales Kotalik was able to take part in Saturday's morning skate, though he was unable to take part in the evening game. "I’m getting better every day," Kotalik told the Buffalo News. "The healing of the knee is going even better than we expected. Hopefully, I will be cleared for contact early next week and I will be ready to help the team on Thursday." Kotalik is recovering from a sprained MCL in his knee, but hopefully he will be ready to go on Thursday.

Ales Kotalik sustained a sprained MCL in his knee during practice on Thursday, and his status for the season opener is iffy. "It will be tight whether he’s ready," coach Lindy Ruff said, according to the Buffalo News. The Sabres begin the season on Friday, and Kotalik currently is considered to be questionable for that contest.

Ales Kotalik got through Tuesday's practice and will play Wednesday against New Jersey, The Buffalo News reports. Kotalik's comeback from his knee injury allowed the Sabres had to return left wing Michael Ryan to Rochester.

Ales Kotalik was able to take part in yesterday's practice and is getting closer to playing in a game, according to the Buffalo News. He's recovering from a sprained MCL. "He was out there in a nonconfrontational sense, just trying to get some shots in," coach Lindy Ruff said. "You could see he was lagging behind in some of the drills, but he’s doing a lot better. I would hope maybe by the end of the week that he’d be getting pretty close."

Ales Kotalik will be sidelined 4-6 weeks with a sprained MCL in his right knee, according to the AP. He suffered the injury against the Bruins on Saturday.

The lower-body injury that Ales Kotalik sustained in Saturday's game was actually a sprained MCL in his right knee, according to the Buffalo News. He's out indefinitely at this point. "I twisted it and heard a little crack," Kotalik said. "It's an MCL sprain, but I'm not sure about the grade. Hopefully, it will be good in a couple weeks, and I won't miss much. But we don't know."

Ales Kotalik limped off five minutes into the second period on Saturday with what coach Lindy Ruff described only as a lower-body injury, according to the AP. Kotalik will miss at least Buffalo's next game on Tuesday against Philadelphia.
