The Devils acquired Michael Rupp on Monday, according to the New York Post. Rupp, who scored the game-winning goal in the Stanely Cup finals for New Jersey in 2003, will make the minimum salary.

The Columbus Dispatch reports that Michael Rupp will soon undergo a procedure to correct an irregular heartbeat first diagnosed in 2000. Rupp's heart fluttered for over an hour last week. "I’ve had this condition my whole life," Rupp said. "It’s completely normal. A lot of athletes have it, and a lot of regular people have it, too, and don’t even know about it. I need a procedure done that will rid me of it forever. I’ll have the procedure and that’ll be the end of it."
