‘Canes winger Erik Cole was activated on Friday night and assisted on Carolina’s first goal. Cole was taken off the ice on a stretcher during the game on November 12 with a neck injury.

The Carolina Hurricanes placed forward Erik Cole on the injured reserve list retroactive to Tuesday, after sustaining a neck injury on Monday. The Hurricanes also activated winger Andrew Ladd, who has missed 16 games with an ankle injury.

Erik Cole was a late scratch Saturday due to a foot injury. He sustained the injury while playing in a pick-up soccer game, according to the Raleigh News & Observer. He's not going to be able to play Monday and is doubtful for the rest of next week. Despite suffering the injury while playing soccer, Cole's a hockey player, so at least you know he's not feigning injury like a soccer player would.
