Jonathan Cheechoo aggravated his upper-body injury Friday and was unable to take the ice Saturday against Phoenix, according to the Mercury News.

Our View:Riley Armstrong is filling his spot in the lineup until he is ready to return. Cheechoo is considered day-to-day.

Our View:Cheechoo is nearing a return, he did skate earlier in the day, but he continues to be forced to watch the games from the press box.

The AP reports that Jonathan Cheechoo missed Saturday night's game due to an upper body injury after getting hit with a hard check in the third period of San Jose’s win over the Blues.

Our View:Cheechoo has four goals, seven points and 12 PIM through 14 games this season. It is unknown how long he is expected to be out.
