November 22, 2008
Marty Turco stopped all but one of Anaheim's 24 regulation shots on Saturday, before getting beaten in a shootout.

Our View:Turco hasn't been sharp this season, with a goals-allowed -average well over 3.50. You may want to sit him until he turns it around.
November 20, 2008
Marty Turco is set to make his 16th start in goal tonight against Chicago, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Turco holds a poor .870 save percentage and a 3.57 goals-against average for the season, but is playing well as of late as he allowed two or less goals in four of his last five starts.
November 15, 2008
Marty Turco will make his 15th start of the season Saturday against the Coyotes, according to the Star-Telegram.

Our View:Turco has only recorded one win over his last six starts, and holds a poor .865 save percentage and 3.69 goals-against average for the season, making him an unfavorable fantasy option right now.
November 13, 2008
Marty Turco fell to 4-7-3 as he allowed three goals on 29 shots to the Kings in the Stars 3-2 loss.

Our View:This represents the third straight loss for Turco (0-2-1) though it was the first time in four starts that he allowed more than two goals. His game might be slowly rounding into form, but it isn't translating into wins.
November 1, 2008
After being benched the past two games, Marty Turco will get the start in goal on Saturday as the Stars take on the Bruins, according to the Star-Telegram.

Our View:In his nine starts this season, Turco has a 4.22 GAA and a .842 save percentage. Until he shows improvement, owners should not start him.
October 26, 2008
Coach Dave Tippett isn't happy with his goaltending situation, according to the Dallas Morning News. "The goals against is a joke right now," Tippett said. "There are a lot of guilty parties out there. You have to evaluate your personnel, how they are playing, who is making mistakes. It is not the way we do things around here, to have to score seven goals to win. You can't have an .820 save percentage and survive in this league." Tippett has said that he has thought about benching Marty Turco, but that he doesn't trust rookie backup Tobias Stephan, either. "We've thought about that (sitting Turco) for about two weeks now, but the other guy is unproven," Tippett said. "When he has got in there he hasn't exactly showed he's a go-to guy."

Our View:The Stars will likely give Turco a bit more time to work out his problems, but Tippett's patience is clearly wearing thin.
October 25, 2008
Marty Turco is set to make his ninth start of the season in goal tonight against the Capitals, according to the Star-Telegram.

Our View:Washington is riding a three-game losing streak, but Turco remains an unstable fantasy option, as he is 3-4-1 with a poor .848 save percentage and 4.04 goals-against average.
October 23, 2008
A night after being pulled in the second period, Marty Turco stopped 24 of 27 shots as the Stars defeated the Islanders 5-3 on Thursday.

Our View:It wasn't an outstanding night for Turco but good enough to get the win and restore some confidence back in the goaltender who has gotten off to a shaky start.
October 22, 2008
The AP reports that goalie Marty Turco was pulled in the second period of Wednesday's 5-0 loss to New Jersey. He allowed three goals on 17 shots.

Our View:Turco has played poorly so far this season and hopefully the lack of confidence in him will make him focus more on bringing home wins for the Stars going forward.
October 20, 2008
Goalie Marty Turco stopped 28-of-29 shots against the Rangers on Monday night and earned his second win of the season.

Our View:What took you so long, Marty? Turco is still not off the hook for his awful early season play, but this was a much-needed effort.
October 18, 2008
Marty Turco only stopped 17-of-22 shots in Saturday's 5-4 loss to Colorado.

Our View:Turco falls to 1-3-1 over five starts, and has already allowed 22 goals. Fantasy owners should seek insurance for the 33-year-old goalie, until he gets back on track.
October 16, 2008
Stars goalie Marty Turco did not make it through the game, allowing five goals on 18 shots as Dallas fell 6-1 to the Blues.

Our View:Turco picked up his second loss of the season, and is really having a hard time right now. Normally successful against the Blues, sporting a career 1.88 GAA against them, his being lit up is a bad sign.
October 16, 2008
The Miami Herald reports that Marty Turco is 9-4-1 with a 1.88 goals against average and one tie in 16 career games versus the Blues.

Our View:Turco takes on the Blues on Thursday and history tells us he should fare well. Through three games this season, Turco has a 3.96 GAA and a 84.6 percent save percentage.
October 15, 2008
Marty Turco stopped only 15 of 19 shots, but the Stars still defeated the Predators 6-4 on Wednesday night.

Our View:Turco is now 1-1-1 in three starts, though he has looked terrible allowing 12 goals in those three starts. Things figure to improve greatly as the year progresses, but as of this moment he just isn't getting the job done.
October 5, 2008
Marty Turco wasn't up to his normal standards on Sunday as he allowed three goals on just 14 Oilers shots.

Our View:When a team allows only 14 shots, it should emerge victorious. No matter, Turco remains one of the most consistently excellent netminders in the game and a virtual lock for at least 30 victories with a GAA below 2.50 (something he has done in four of the last five seasons).
September 27, 2008
Stars goalie Marty Turco stopped 16 of the St. Louis Blues' 19 shots, which was just enough, as Dallas won, 4-3.

Our View:Fantasy owners can expect another solid season from Turco, who won 32 games last season.
May 19, 2008
Marty Turco allowed four goals on 29 shots on Monday as the Stars fell 4-1 to the Wings as they were eliminated from the playoffs.

Our View:With this effort Turco's playoff GAA crept over 2.00, but you simply can't blame him for the Stars defeat in this series as, honestly, they were beaten by the better team.
May 19, 2008
The Stars are still shining in the Western Conference final thanks to Marty Turco, who was brilliant in consecutive victories, notes the Pittsburgh Tribune Review.

Our View: Turco stopped 71-of-73 shots in Games 4 and 5, and a similar performance tonight in Game 6 at Dallas could give him a chance to claim only his second victory at Detroit's Joe Louis Arena in a deciding Game 7.
May 18, 2008
Many thought this series would be over at this point, but Dallas goalie Marty Turco has other plans, icing a 38-save win over the Detroit Red Wings to bring the Western Conference finals series to 3-2 in favor of the Red Wings.

Our View:Detroit was up 3-0 but Turco has been on fire. "It's probably the best I've felt in this building ever," said Turco. Prior to this series, Turco was 0-9-2 in Joe Louis Arena. Over his last two games (one in Dallas), he has held the Red Wings to two goals on 73 shots on goal, an outstanding performance pushing Dallas forward. Game 6 will be played in Dallas tomorrow night.
May 15, 2008
Marty Turco and the Stars will head to Detroit needing to win all three games that remain in the series, a task that appears daunting when you consider that Marty Turco is 0-9-2 in his career at Joe Louis Arena, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:The Stars fell behind in this series 0-3, so they would have to win four straight to make the Cup Finals. It isn't going to happen, and don't be surprised if the Wings close out this series in Game 5.
May 14, 2008
The Dallas Stars needed the win to stay alive in their Western Conference finals series against Detroit, and they got the job done, leaving with a 3-1 win to pick up their first win of the series. All three goals were scored and assisted by different players, but goalie Marty Turco was the man of the hour, stopping 33 of 34 shots on goal to hold the Red Wings to one goal and a loss.

Our View:While Turco has allowed at least one goal in each and every playoff game the Stars have played this season, he has been the team's force of reckoning on more than one occasion. The Red Wings have been his toughest test to date, but tonight shows he has the game to pull wins.
May 12, 2008
Dallas goalie Marty Turco dropped his career record against Detroit to 2-4-3 when netminding at home.

Our View: He's and ugly 2-13-5 against the Red Wings overall.
May 10, 2008
Give Marty Turco credit. He faced nearly twice as many shots on goal as his Detroit counterpoint, and he allowed just two to get by. Unfortunately, that's all Detroit needed to get the win, 2-1, and take a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference final.

Our View:Turco has been strong in the playoffs, but his team is falling apart on defense and the Detroit Red Wings just seem too good to be handled.
May 8, 2008
Marty Turco had his worst game of these playoffs in Game 1 of the third round as he allowed the Red Wings to score four times on 31 shots to lose the game.

Our View:To be fair to Turco, three of the goals were scored on the power-play, and on at least two of the goals there is no way he even saw the shot. The Stars will need a much better effort than this if they want to move on.
May 6, 2008
Dallas goalie Marty Turco has enjoyed a solid performance in the playoffs this season, but the pressure may just be starting.

Our View:Turco is a combined 0-7-2 with a goals-against average of 3.17 at Joe Louis Arena this season, home of the Detroit Red Wings who are ready to face the Stars in the NHL Playoffs. In these playoffs, only Detroit goalie Chris Osgood has posted a better goals-against average, but the inability to find success on this ice this season is certainly a concern for Dallas fans looking forward.
May 5, 2008
Marty Turco stood on his head and made 61 saves for the Stars in their 2-1 four OT victory over the Sharks, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Can we please put to rest those insane opinions that Turco can't get it done in the playoffs? Turco is 8-4 through two rounds with a 1.73 GAA and .929 SV%. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it you doubters.
April 27, 2008
Marty Turco made 29 saves in a 5-2 victory over the Sharks in Game 2 on Sunday night.

Our View:The win sends Dallas home with a commanding series lead (2-0) and the Stars are on their way to their second series upside in the Chase for the Lord Stanley.
April 25, 2008
Marty Turco has long carried around the label of great goaltender who caves under pressure, but this playoff season he is trying to erase that belief, according to NHL.com.

Our View:What is odd is that Turco won the national championship with Michigan twice in his collegiate career, including being named the Froze Four MVP once. So far in six games he has posted a 2.01 GAA and .912 SV% and now he gets a shot at the Sharks in Round 2.
April 18, 2008
Marty Turco has played some inspired goal for the Stars this playoff season, finally putting behind him the rumors that he couldn't handle the pressure of the playoffs, this according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Turco is now 3-1 with a 1.76 GAA with a shutout for the Stars who are one game from an improbable first round victory over the defending Cup champs.
April 17, 2008
Marty Turco came within 7.6 seconds of a shutout, sending the Dallas Stars past the Anaheim Ducks 3-1 on Thursday night. Turco made 28 saves in the win.

Our View:Shocking to say the least. The Stars win puts the reigning Stanley Cup champions on the brink of elimination.
April 12, 2008
Marty Turco stopped 20 of 22 shots to improve to 2-0 against the Ducks in Round 1 of the playoffs.

Our View:Turco has led the Stars to an improbable 2-0 lead with both wins coming on the road as he has allowed a total of two goals to the Ducks.
April 11, 2008
Marty Turco earned his fourth career postseason shutout as the Dallas Stars defeated the defending Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks, 4-0, on Thursday night. Turco made 23 saves in the win.
March 9, 2008

February 17, 2008
Marty Turco stopped all 28 shots he faced on Sunday to earn the 32nd shutout of his career in the Stars 1-0 victory over the Red Wings. Turco is now 6-1 with only 11 goals allowed in seven games for a 1.56 GAA in February signaling and end to those foolish few who were calling for more playing to be given to backup Mike Smith.
February 15, 2008
Marty Turco recorded his 200th career victory Friday night in the Dallas Stars' 4-2 victory over the Anaheim Ducks. The win was the eighth in nine games for the red hot Stars and ended the Ducks' five-game winning streak. Turco made 20 saves to earn his milestone victory.
February 11, 2008
Marty Turco allowed only one goal on Monday night stopping 19 of 20 shots in his return to action from a sore neck (he had sat out the last two games). Turco is now 24-11-4 on the year to move within six victories of his fifth straight 30-win season. He may not always post the pretty numbers, but he gets the job done and does sport a 2.30 GAA on the year.
February 8, 2008
Marty Turco should be available to return to action on Saturday after missing Thursday's game due to a sore neck, according to the Dallas Morning News. He showed improvement yesterday, and it looks like it was just a minor ailment, so be prepared to have him in your lineups this weekend.
February 7, 2008
Marty Turco will not be in goal tonight for precautionary reasons due to a sore neck, according to Sports Network. Tobias Stephan was recalled from Iowa of the AHL to give the Stars some depth, but Mike Smith is likely to get the start.
February 1, 2008
Marty Turco will start for the Stars Friday in Edmonton. He's been a little off his game this year (.906 save percentage, 2.42 goals-against average), which has opened the door for Mike Smith to play more than expected.
