Andrew Raycroft will get the start in goal for the Avalanche on Thursday when Colorado goes up against Columbus, according to the Rocky Mountain News.

Our View:Raycroft has played solidly in his two starts this year, going 2-0 with a 3.00 goals against average. His save percentage is just .875, however, and he is the backup to Peter Budaj, limiting any fantasy value.

Andrew Raycroft will pick up his second straight start for the Avalanche on Saturday night, according to the Rocky Mountain News.

Our View:HC Tony Granato says that Peter Budaj is still the clubs starter in net, but this decision to allow Raycroft to start again just solidifies the belief that if you own Budaj you simply must handcuff him with Raycroft to make sure you have your bases covered.

No. 2 goalie Andrew Raycroft will start in Thursday's game. Coach Tony Granato said the decision to start Raycroft was not a reflection on struggling No. 1 goalie Peter Budaj but part of a predetermined schedule.

Our View:Budaj has allowed 13 goals on 74 shots in his first three games. In four preseason appearances, he allowed only six goals on 94 shots. Raycroft could coceivably battle for a starting job as both goalies were primarily backups last season.

Coach Tony Granato stated that Andrew Raycroft will start between the pipes around once a week, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:If so, Raycroft will not play enough to merit fantasy consideration, but could always earn more playing time if he performs well or if starter Peter Budaj struggles.
October 3, 2008
Andrew Raycroft will make his first appearance in front of his new home crowd on Friday night when the Avalanche face the Blackhawks in Denver, according to the Rocky Mountain News.

Our View:Raycroft will begin the year behind Peter Budaj who has yet to prove he can carry the load as a number one netminder. Still, Raycroft has been so bad of late (a 3.92 GAA and .876 SV% in 19 games last season), that his prospects for being a valuable performer this season seem bleak.
September 27, 2008
Andrew Raycroft will start in goal on Saturday against the Los Angeles according to the Rocky Mountain News.

Our View:Raycroft should still be considered the back-up to Peter Budaj.
September 25, 2008
Goaltender Andrew Raycroft earned the win against Dallas on Thursday night. He turned away eight of nine shots in the third period.

Our View:Raycroft is on a one-year deal and has to prove himself after a dismal performance in Toronto last season. He should prove decent backup but does not hold any fantasy value.
July 1, 2008
The Avalanche wasted little time in acquiring a goalie to back up Peter Budaj as they signed Andrew Raycroft to a 1-year, $800,000 deal, according to TSN.

Our View:Raycroft, who 37 games in 2006-07, was limited to just 19 games last season and just two wins serving as Vesa Toskala's backup. He figures to fill the same role behind Budaj this season.
June 27, 2008
The Leafs have bought out the remaining year on goalie Andrew Raycroft's contract, according to the AP.

Our View:Raycroft lost his starting job to Vesa Toskala last season, but previously set a Leafs' franchise record with 37 wins, and is looking forward to his next challenge in the NHL.
June 24, 2008
Goalie Andrew Raycroft has been placed on waivers by Toronto, according to TSN.ca.

Our View:Raycroft went 2-9-5 over 19 games (16 starts) with the Leafs in 2007-08, and took a back seat to starter Vesa Toskala. He should get scooped up by another club, as he notched 37 wins with Toronto back in 2006-07.

Andrew Raycroft will get the start for the Leafs in Saturday's season finale, according to the AP. Raycroft has had a brutal year, posting a .873 save percentage and 3.98 GAA. Needless to say, you need to avoid him in fantasy at all costs.
