Our View:Raycroft has played solidly in his two starts this year, going 2-0 with a 3.00 goals against average. His save percentage is just .875, however, and he is the backup to Peter Budaj, limiting any fantasy value. |

Our View:HC Tony Granato says that Peter Budaj is still the clubs starter in net, but this decision to allow Raycroft to start again just solidifies the belief that if you own Budaj you simply must handcuff him with Raycroft to make sure you have your bases covered. |

Coach Tony Granato said the decision to start Raycroft was not a reflection on struggling No. 1 goalie Peter Budaj but part of a predetermined schedule. Our View:Budaj has allowed 13 goals on 74 shots in his first three games. In four preseason appearances, he allowed only six goals on 94 shots. Raycroft could coceivably battle for a starting job as both goalies were primarily backups last season. |
