Andrei Markov scored his second goal of the year in Montreal's 3-2 shootout win over the Senators.

Our View:Markov continues to pile up assists and points but only has two goals on the year.
October 15, 2008
Andrei Markov had two assists on Wednesday night and now has a total of six helpers in just four games on the young season.

Our View:Markov scored 58 points last season for the Habs and is being looked at to better that mark this season with the loss of high scoring defensemen Mark Streit to the Islanders. It is clear that he has gotten that message loud and clear.

Andrei Markov has had a rough playoffs thus far due to several nagging injuries, but the hope is that he will improve now that he has had a little rest, this according to TSN. "If we're going to win every game and I don't score a goal or get an assist, it's better for the team."

Our View:Markov was a big time producer with 16 goals and 58 points in the regular season, which makes his mere single assist in seven games so shocking. Look for his offense to improve, especially his work on the power-play, or he could be labeled a playoff bust.

Andrei Markov dished out three assists on Sunday night in Montreal's 5-3 victory over the reeling Flyers. Markov is now up to 45 points, his third straight season of at least 42, as he shoots for his first 50-point season. Markov continues to be one of the least discussed top-flight offensive defensemen in the league and he should continue to be a point scoring machine, especially with the man-advantage (7g, 19a).
