Kris Beech has been placed on unconditional waivers by the Penguins after refusing to report to AHL affiliate Wilkes-Barre, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View:If he goes unclaimed and does not report to Wlkes-Barre within two weeks, the Penguins will exercise their option to terminate the one-year contract he signed this summer. He has coveted a job in Europe since being demoted by Pittsburgh.

Kris Beech was sent to the American Hockey League as the Penguins pared down their roster, according to the AP. Also demoted were forwards Jonathan Filewich, Christopher Minard, Ryan Stone, Aaron Boogaard, Adam Henrich, Tim Wallace, and David Gove, defenseman Ben Lovejoy, Joey Mormina, Deryk Engelland, and T.J. Kemp, and goalie David Brown.

Our View:Beech has no fantasy value, and in 25 games last season, scored six goals while adding five helpers.

Kris Beech has re-signed with the Penguins, according to the AP. He agreed to a one-year deal, and financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View:Beech was claimed off waivers from Columbus in January. He registered six goals and five assists over 25 games of NHL action. The 27-year-old center won't make a fantasy impact with Pittsburgh next season.
