Glen Metropolit has signed a two-year deal with the Flyers, according to TSN.ca. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View:The Bruins wanted to re-sign him, but he opted to test the market in free agency. He only scored 11 goals and 22 assists over 82 games last season, but excels as a penalty-killer, and was a solid acquisition for the Flyers.

Glen Metropolit is weighing his contract offer from the Bruins, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:He may test the free agent market before deciding where to sign. The Maple Leafs are believed to be among the clubs interested in him. David Krejci emerged last season, and Patrice Bergeron is expected to bounce back healthy, meaning Metropolit could end up on the fourth line if he re-signs with Boston.

When the Bruins invited Glen Metropolit to their training camp last September, they were impressed enough with his play to ink him to a one-year contract. After garnering a career high of 33 points, the Bruins apparently want him back. The Boston Globe is reporting the Bruins have given the veteran journeyman a contract offer that he is considering. He made $500,000 last year.

Our View: With the emergence of David Krejci, and the return to health of Patrice Bergeron and Marc Savard, Metropolit may find himself on the fourth line if he decides to sign.
