Tampa Bay Lightning center Jeff Halpern (USA) suffered a torn ACL on a hit by Minnesota Wild defenseman Brent Burns (Canada) during Tuesday game.

Our View:Halpern finished the NHL season red-hot, with 18 points in 19 games, after being traded from the Dallas Stars. Halpern's 10 goals with the Lightning matched the number he had posted in the previous 64 games with the Stars.

Jeff Halpern continues to carry the hot hand for Tampa Bay, registering a goal and two assists in tonight's 3-1 win over the Florida Panthers. Halpern now has five goals and six assists over his last seven games, but has not been a tremendous fantasy option this season.

Jeff Halpern had to leave Thursday's game in the first period with an abdominal strain, according to the St. Petersburg Times. Consider him day-to-day for now, but we'll update you on his condition when more is known.
