Kimmo Timonen was able to return from a blood clot in his left ankle to play in Game 5 for the Flyers, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:The Flyers will need him if they have any hope of coming back against the Penguins, but his return may be too little, too late.

If Kimmo Timonen gets through practice without any issues today, and can deal with numbness and pain in his injured foot, he expects to be in the lineup tomorrow in Pittsburgh for Game 5, according to the Baltimore Sun. The prognosis on the blood clot in his left ankle has improved and Timonen said, " At least now I know there's no danger. It's just a matter of how much pain I can take."

Our View:Philadelphia is down in the series 3-1, and they gravely need Timonen back in the lineup. We will keep you posted on how his workout goes.

Kimmo Timonen is going to skate on his own today with the hopes of playing as early as Sunday in Pittsburgh, according to the Courier Post. It had been thought that the defenseman was done for the year after doctors discovered a blood clot in his left foot, but it appears the injury isn't as severe as initially thought. Timonen said the decision over whether to return or not now rests with him. "If I feel (today) that I'm good to go for Sunday, then I'm good for Sunday," he said. "There is nothing to prevent me from playing.

Our View:The Flyers' playoff hopes are hanging on by a thread, and they could certainly use Timonen in the lineup. We'll let you know how his workout goes.
