Matt Cooke is likely to return for tonight's game against the Rangers, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He has missed the past four games because of a muscle strain in the abdominal area but has been practicing regularly the past few days.

Our View:Cooke is a solid contributor on the Penguins' penalty-killing unit, but will likely only score around 10 goals, which he averaged over the last two seasons.

Our View:Cooke is day-to-day at this point, but fantasy owners shouldn't have any interest in using him.

Matt Cooke was signed by the Penguins to a 2-year contract to take the roster spot of Jarrko Ruutu who moved on to the Senators, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Cooke is a rough and tumble forward with some offensive upside (10 goals), but he is really a better teammate than fantasy weapon, so he is probably best left on waivers unless you play in an extremely deep league.

Matt Cooke will be forced to play his home games outside of Canada for the first time in his career, as the forward was dealt to Washington Tuesday in exchange for Matt Pettinger. Cooke has just 16 points on the year and won't deserve any fantasy consideration in his new digs.
