The Tampa Bay Lightning have fired coach John Tortorella, according to AZCentral.com.

Our View:It was just four years ago that Tortorella led this team to a Stanley Cup Championship, but failures to reproduce top success has led the team to make this move. The Lightning were 239-222-36-38 under Tortorella's watch, making the playoffs four times over six and a half seasons. The rumors of potential replacement Barry Melrose continue to swirl, but nothing has been announced yet. We will update a news becomes available.

Martin St. Louis was named a finalist for the Lady Byng award given each year to the player who "exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability,” according to NHL.com.

Our View:St. Louis is a finalist for the third time after leading NHL forward in ice-time for the second straight year. He also scored 83 points and had only 26 PIM, a pretty low total considering the fact that his team was awful and he was a (-23). He should get the award for not snapping and going postal on someone just for that.

Martin St. Louis was held to a goose egg on Saturday night but don't despair, he was still able to post a (-1) on the night. With 83 points on the season St. Louis was better than a point-per-game performer though he somehow managed to turn that level of offense into a (-23). Look for that number to turn around next season.

Martin St. Louis notched a goal and an assist on Wednesday night, but unfortunately, as has happened a lot lately, St. Louis also was a (-2) on the night. St. Louis has 25 goals and 82 points on the season, numbers that are in direct opposition to his horrific plus/minus (-21) which has held him back from being a top option this season.

Martin St. Louis netted a goal and recorded two assists as the Lightning found a way to hold off the slumping Flyers 5-3 on Thursday night. The loss was Philadelphia's fifth straight while Tampa Bay has won four of five overall. St. Louis isn't scoring like he was last year, but playing alongside Vinny Lecavalier he continues to dish out assists.

Lightning winger Martin St. Louis didn't score in Thursday's 2-1 win over the Thrashers but recorded an assist. After Wednesday's impressive one goal and two assist performance, St. Louis now has 21 points in his last 15 games. The right winger is on pace to equal or exceed his career high of 102 points of last season.
