Georges Laraque has signed a three-year, $4.5 million deal to play for the Montreal Canadiens, according to TSN.com.

Our View:Laraque's value lies with his fists more than his hockey stick. He doesn't do enough to have much value in fantasy hockey leagues.

Georges Laraque will not be joining the Nashville Predators after the team made him a free agent offer, according to The Tennessean.

Our View:Laraque has more value as an enforcer than as a scorer, so his fantasy value is minimal. He isn't only a goon, though, as he did score four goals to go with nine assists last season.

Georges Laraque was a healthy scratch for Game 3 on Wednesday, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Our View:He was a scratch for Game 2 as well, while Gary Roberts took his spot in the lineup. Laraque only has one goal and one assist through 15 games played in the postseason, with his last point coming on May 11 against the Flyers.

As the Penguins search out adjustments to the lineup in reaction to being shutout and held to just 19 shots in Game 1, the Pens are expected to relegate enforcer Georges Laraque to the bench as a healthy scratch in Game 2 on Monday.

Our View:This puts Gary Roberts in the limelight as Pittsbrugh must be more offensive minded. Laraque, who brings size, toughness and hustle to the lineup, is one of the few members of this young team with extensive playoff experience. However, short of a couple of heated conversations with Detroit's Darren McCarty, it became clear that an enforcer would probably not be needed in a battle against the Wings.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that Georges Laraque is eligible to return tonight after serving a three-game suspension. The winger was suspended for an elbow that knocked Buffalo's Nathan Paetsch unconscious. "It's been three games, a week," Laraque said. "It feels like it's been a long time. It's frustrating, but at least we won two games of the three." Laraque's 128 PIM is valuable in specific fantasy formats.

Georges Laraque has been dealt a three-game suspension, according to TSN.ca. Laraque belted out an elbow to the face of Buffalo's Nathan Paetsch on Wednesday night, which resulted in a stretcher coming out onto the ice. Paetsch was able to leave the ice on his own power and Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff commented that the hit was a cheap shot.
